Some people melt at 75°, but our absolute legends of aviation mechanics—Jimmy, Phil, and Travis—are out here surviving a casual 110° on the tarmac just to make sure our planes actually leave the ground. 🥵✈️

While the rest of us are aggressively fighting over the office AC, this trio is busy sweating through their shirts, turning wrenches, and keeping the fleet safely in the air. We are convinced they are part human, part lizard, and 100% superhero.

Jimmy, Phil, Travis: thank you for keeping us safe, keeping us moving, and somehow not melting into puddles out there. We owe you a mountain of ice-cold drinks! 🛠️🔥🍦

Officially a solo pilot—and one shirt shorter! ✂️✈️

A massive congratulations to Ali Al Mashhadani on nailing his first solo flight! To celebrate, instructor Gabriel Kelly carried out the ultimate aviation rite of passage: cutting the shirt tail!

The tradition symbolizes that a student is ready to fly solo and no longer needs the instructor "watching their back" or tugging their shirt for direction. Ali’s cut fabric will now join the ranks of aviation history as a proud memento of hard work, trust, and flawless skill.

Shoutout to Gabriel for the incredible training, and here's to many more hours in the logbook! Blue skies ahead, Ali! 🚀

Huge congratulations to Tucker Walker on passing his Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) checkride today!

Tucker has been a part of the Dallas Flight Center family since day one. He earned his pilot certificates right here with us. We are incredibly proud to watch him transition from a dedicated student into a professional educator.

The best part? Tucker isn't going anywhere. He is officially joining the Dallas Flight Center team as our newest CFI! We can't wait to see him pass on his knowledge, passion, and skills to the next generation of aviators.

Huge congratulations to Lee Nelson on crushing his first Solo Flight! It takes immense focus, discipline, and grit to take to the skies alone for the first time, and Lee absolutely nailed it.

Making the moment unforgettable, his mother and his father, pilot Mike Nelson, was right there on the tarmac to witness the next generation take flight and bring in a perfect landing. 👨‍👦✈️

Instructor Steven Grime was ready with the scissors for the traditional shirt-tail cutting—symbolizing that Lee has officially broken the bonds of the training tether. He is the master of his own cockpit now. ✂️👕

A massive congratulations to Owen Coss on passing his checkride!🎓✨️

This achievement is also a testament to exceptional mentorship. Huge congratulations to Alex Azar for passing his Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI) checkride! ✨️👨‍✈️✈️

Just a couple of weeks ago, we were celebrating Alex for earning his Multi-Engine rating. To turn around and immediately master the material required to teach advanced twin-engine aerodynamics, emergency procedures, and systems is an incredible feat.
Alex is now officially certified to train the next generation of multi-engine pilots.

It’s official: Travis is flying solo! ✈️

Huge congratulations to Travis Ragsdale for officially kicking his flight instructor out of the cockpit and completing his very first student solo flight!

A massive shoutout to his instructor, Steven Grime, who was on the ground waiting with scissorsin hand. Thank you, Steven, for giving Travis the skills to leave the nest and stick the landing.

It truly is a family adventure! Travis's family was sweating it out down on the tarmac, craning their necks, cheering him on, and watching the skies. We couldn't be prouder of Travis for proving that all those hours of daydreaming about airplanes actually paid off.
You did it, Travis! Now that you're safely back on the ground, the celebration begins. 🍾👨‍✈️👏
