Here are a few important reminders as students head back to class this week!
K-12 students begin Wednesday, August 12, and Pre-K students begin Friday, August 14.
As we prepare for the first day, please remember that traffic will be heavy around our schools. Allow yourself extra time and please be patient. The first few days are always the busiest as families adjust to car rider lines and students learn arrival and dismissal procedures.
While we want car rider lines to move quickly, we will never sacrifice safety and security for speed. Our administrators and staff will be there to make sure every student is safely on their way home.
If your child is a bus rider, please arrive at the bus stop 10 to 15 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time on Wednesday. Buses may experience delays during the first week as everyone settles into their new routines.
Our Transportation Department will be working diligently to safely transport more than 5,000 students on more than 100 buses. If buses are crowded, our team will work quickly to balance loads and make adjustments as needed. Our Transportation Call Center will also be open Wednesday afternoon to assist families with questions or concerns.
And remember - it gets better every day, and so does the traffic. We promise!
For our 7th through 12th grade students, please bring a printed or handwritten copy of your schedule on the first day. If you took your Chromebook home for the summer, bring it back fully charged and ready to go.
Finally, be sure to check your email, our district website, and district social media pages for important back-to-school information and updates.
We know the beginning of a new school year is exciting, but it can also be busy and stressful. We truly appreciate your patience and grace.
