Meet the Heart Behind Chevy's Building Blocks!

Hi, everyone! I'm Chevelle Howard, owner of Chevy's Building Blocks After-School Program.

Working with children has been my passion for more than 20 years. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of serving children and families in a variety of roles, including as an After-School Team Group Leader with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and as a Teacher Assistant with Cabarrus County Schools. I also hold a degree in Youth and Human Services and have proudly owned Chevy's Building Blocks since 2013.

Most importantly, I'm a wife and mother of nine amazing children, so I truly understand the importance of finding a safe, caring, and dependable place for your child after school. As both an educator and a parent, I know the peace of mind that comes from knowing your child is loved, supported, and encouraged every day.

My goal is simple: to create a place where children can finish their homework, enjoy fun activities, build friendships, and feel right at home while parents finish their workday with peace of mind.

For the 2026–2027 school year, I'll be serving a small group of just 10 students, allowing me to give each child the attention and support they deserve.
