Today we learned from one of our camper’s about a new creature. This camper is our mini encyclopedia

The drop bear is a popular Australian urban legend about a mythical, carnivorous, and oversized version of the koala. According to tall tales, these creatures lurk in eucalyptus trees and ambush unsuspecting tourists or bushwalkers by dropping onto their heads from above. -Wikipedia

Today we held our first Conversation Skills Group in collaboration with Ms. Scott, SLP, founder of Happily Speaking LLC, and it was a wonderful success!

During today’s session, participants:

* Used a bean bag as a talking cue to practice taking turns during conversations.
* Introduced themselves to the group.
* Used conversation starter questions to help initiate and maintain meaningful interactions.
* Learned about “Ready Body” and how body language serves as an important social cue for active listening and respectful communication.

The children were highly engaged throughout the session and shared that they would love to participate again!

We’re excited to continue this partnership with Ms. Scott and plan to offer Conversation Skills Group every Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
