We might have inspired someone to become a pilot today! ✈️
Today, I had the distinct honor of introducing the Huntington Middle School STEM career-driven students — a program our nonprofit, H3O, has proudly invested in — to retired United States Air Force Major Joseph Washington, who brings more than 25 years of aviation experience and thousands of hours of flight time to the classroom.
Mr. Washington, now a flight instructor here in Central Georgia, joined the students to provide insight from a pilot’s perspective and to build on their recent field trip to the Museum of Aviation’s flight simulator. The students truly enjoyed their simulator experience, and we thought it would be a great opportunity to bring in a subject matter expert who could share both the military and civilian sides of aviation.
During his visit, Mr. Washington shared stories from his flying career, discussed his journey to becoming a military pilot, explained his work as a flight instructor, and outlined the requirements, expectations, and opportunities available in aviation.
Most importantly, he gave the students valuable information and encouragement if they choose to pursue an aviation career someday.
Opportunities like this matter because exposure creates possibilities — and today, dreams may have taken flight. 🚀 🚀

The READ Foundation, based in Middle Georgia, is sponsoring its annual summer workshop for the community. Our ongoing partnership supports their efforts by sponsoring 3 students, easing the financial burdens on their families, and, most importantly, providing professional development opportunities for their children. Thanks to everyone involved in making this workshop a success.

Huntington Middle School's 2026 Museum of Aviation Flight Simulation field trip was eventful. A combined 30 students from the schools' TSA and FCCLA programs attended the daylong flight simulation program, which included a classroom lecture and a hands-on exercise in which they flew several types of Air Force jets and cargo planes. Thanks to the Museum of Aviation staff for such an enlightening experience.

We want to thank the Community Foundation of Central Georgia and the Central Georgia Empowerment Fund (CGEF) for supporting our H3O Group mission.

Our organization was one of eight finalists competing for funding to support our mission. To everyone's delight, all eight finalists were winners that evening.

Thanks again, CGEF and the Community Foundation of Central Georgia, for all the support provided to the area's local nonprofits.
