✨ HAPPY RELEASE DAY! ✨

The 10th Anniversary Edition of Light of Mine by Allen Brokken is officially available in hardcover and eBook!

A Christian fantasy adventure for the whole family. 📚 Perfect for middle grade readers, Christian families, homeschoolers, and family read-alouds looking for clean fantasy with a powerful message of hope.

Their parents have vanished. The Darkness is closing in. Can three children keep the Light alive?

All alone on their isolated Heathlands farm, twelve-year-old Lauren and her brave younger brothers, Aiden and Ethan, have one critical mission: keep the Tower of Light shining. This beacon of hope is the only thing that can cut through the Darkness cloaking their land and guide their missing mother and father safely back home.

But when a mysterious hooded stranger is caught trespassing and a deceptive new bishop sows confusion in their congregation, the children's world is thrown into chaos. Soon, they must face a terrifying reality: the shadows are spreading, and they don't know who to trust.

Armed with only three holy weapons and a trio of blessed pets, the siblings must stand firm in their faith to keep the Tower of Light shining.

If the Light goes out, their family is lost forever. Will their faith be strong enough to conquer the creeping Darkness?

Ope looks like we've been keeping a secret again. 🤭 Stick around to find out...

In Project Hail Mary, Ryland Grace doesn’t see himself as a hero. When faced with the ultimate call to sacrifice, his first instinct isn’t courage—it’s fear.

Can this make him a little more relatable?

We love stories about heroes who run toward danger, sacrifice everything, and somehow find the courage to do what needs to be done. But sometimes that can leave us wondering: What do they have that I don’t?

Grace’s story offers a different answer.

Maybe bravery isn’t something certain people are born with. Maybe it’s something we choose.

And when we start looking at courage that way, it begins to sound a lot like something Jesus taught us about sacrificial love.

Our latest blog explores “The Bravery Gene: Courage and Sacrificial Love in Heroes and in Us.”

Read it now at descendantpublishing.com.

Who is someone in your life you want to “be brave for”?

✨What is it about stories that keeps drawing us back?✨

Why do we find ourselves longing to walk through a wardrobe, sail to another shore, or step into a world we've never seen?

In author Chris Warzawski's latest blog, he explores why we create fictional worlds, why we love exploring them, and why that longing for "another world" may reveal something profound about who we are and what we were made for.

If you've ever loved The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lord of the Rings, or any story that left you with a sense of wonder long after you turned the last page, we invite you to check it out.

And we'd love to hear from you:
What fictional world has stayed with you the longest?

Thalia in Exile by Allen Brokken and Thalia Schertzer is now available! Get your copy today!!

Thalia never expected to be taken. But the Darkness has plans of its own.

When the dreaded Steele Brothers and their Giant allies raid her home at midnight, Thalia and her friends are forced on a harrowing journey to the mysterious academy at Emohnomed. Like the young men of Judah chosen for the king of Babylon’s service, they are dragged toward a land of shadowed luxury to learn the language and literature of a culture that serves the Darkness.

Thalia finds brief respite aboard a luxurious train. But when Headmistress Imogen adds a “gift from the bishop” to the students’ punch, Thalia’s keen senses catch the putrescent smell of a counterfeit light. Clinging to the Good Book she smuggled into her bag, she refuses the smoke-laced food that turns friends into unthinking foes. In a world of beautiful lies, Thalia must stand firm against false accusations and prove that the only true strength comes from the Light that cannot be tainted.

Because this isn’t just about escaping her captors. It’s about saving the people who no longer know they need to be saved.
