The Foundations of Healthcare class has been learning proper protocols for hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, and preparing sterile fields in lab. This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the healthcare field and the wide range of career opportunities within it. Students explore the structure of the health care system, roles of healthcare professionals, and essential skills required for success in medical and allied health careers through a combination of classroom instruction, hands-on activities, and real-world applications.

Hey, C**ts! 🧡🤎

Grab your flannels, pull up a camping chair, and get ready for some s’more great journalism!

Our latest edition of The C**t Chronicle is officially here, and this time, we're heading outdoors for the C**ts Camp Edition! Our student journalists have been hard at work gathering stories, exploring fall favorites, and bringing a little campfire magic to MMS!

Here's what's waiting around the campfire:

🏕️ S’more Than Just the News: Meadowbrook alumna and WHIZ journalist Shylin Costello visits our journalism class to share her experiences in broadcast journalism!

🍁 Fall Favorites: From pumpkin pie and changing leaves to students' favorite fall traditions, we're celebrating everything autumn!

🥾 Hit the Trail: Discover local hiking destinations, outdoor activities, and the beauty of nature right in our backyard.

🔥 Campfire Conversations: Find out what our C**ts are looking forward to this fall and what makes the perfect campfire gathering.

🌙 After Dark: Explore what really happens in the woods after sunset and discover the wonders of the fall night sky.

🎨 C**t Creativity: Check out student photography, artwork, and our C**ts Camp Coloring Challenge!

And, of course, there's plenty more packed into these 26 pages!

A special thank-you to our staff members who took time to answer questions, participate in interviews, and support our student journalists. Your willingness to be part of their stories makes this publication possible! Please help us share this publication with students during academic focus.

So, grab a warm drink, settle in, and enjoy a little reading around the virtual campfire!

Happy camping and happy reading!

Mrs. Booth & The C**t Chronicle Staff

P.S. 🎃 Something spooky is lurking just beyond the campsite… Our Thriller Edition arrives October 23! 👻

In celebration of National School Lunch Week next week, we are excited to host a couple of fun events for our middle and high school students! This year's theme is Carnival, and we wanted to bring a little carnival fun to our cafeteria!

Here's what we have planned:

Tuesday, October 13 – Funnel Cake Bar at Breakfast! Students will be able to enjoy delicious funnel cakes and customize them with a variety of toppings, including powdered sugar, cinnamon, strawberries, cherries, apples, and whipped cream.

Friday, October 16 – Fresh-Popped Popcorn! We will be serving fresh-popped popcorn from our serving window in the MS/HS kitchen for students to enjoy!

We are looking forward to celebrating National School Lunch Week and making it a fun and memorable experience for our students!

It was great visiting Mid-East and seeing students in their programs gaining valuable, hands-on experience!

There’s something special about watching students take what they’ve learned in the classroom and put it into practice—building skills, gaining confidence, and preparing for their future careers.

Experiences like these are a great reminder of the importance of career-focused education and the opportunities it creates for students. It was inspiring to see their hard work and enthusiasm firsthand! 👏🎓🔧

🔍 Guernsey County History Hunters! 🏛️

Mr. Valentine's 7th grade Social Studies students took learning outside the classroom for an extra credit project! They explored Guernsey County searching for artifacts and local treasures that could one day be placed in a museum dedicated to our community’s history.

Students looked for artifacts all over Byesville, Cambridge, and other parts of the county and created presentations to show their findings!
