Special Education Accountability Training Series Kicks Off Next Month!
Learn How to Make the Most of Special Education Accountability Data

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce’s Office of Accountability is launching a new series of virtual professional learning sessions designed to help educators and education partners better understand and use the data that goes into Ohio’s Special Education Profile and Ratings.

These presentations offer focused, in-depth learning on individual data topics to strengthen your special education data literacy.

What You’ll Learn

Each two-hour session will dive into key topics, including:

An in-depth review of the Special Education Indicators
Validating Special Education indicator data
Guidance on how to use the various resources, such as technical documents, EMIS, and Secure Data Center reports used to validate data reported which result in Special Education Profiles and Ratings
When & Where

Dates: Monthly sessions, beginning April 2026
Format: Live, virtual sessions hosted by the Office of Accountability. No registration is required.

EMIS Coordinators
Superintendents
Administrators
School psychologists
ESC or SST consultants

Secondary Transition and Workforce Development Consultant Amy Szymanski will present a one-hour webinar designed for secondary education school personnel on the topic of Secondary Transition Funding Opportunities. This session will provide information about three funding opportunities available to schools and educators focused on improving transition outcomes for students with disabilities in Ohio.

During this webinar, participants will learn about:

Job Coach/Skills Trainers Grant – Increase the number of job coaches/skills trainers who assist students with disabilities at a job site.
Becoming a Pre-Employment Transition Services Provider Grant– Schools can become approved providers of pre-employment transition services.
Transition-to-Work Endorsement Course Credit Reimbursement – Individuals with an intervention specialist license, career-technical license, or professional pupil services license can pursue transition-to-work endorsement coursework with the potential for cost reimbursement.
