Every year, we get the opportunity to talk with elementary and junior high students about mining and life at Montana Tech!

We share what we study, the clubs we’re involved in, answer questions about Montana Tech, plus hand out T-shirts and other goodies.

We love getting to spark an interest in mining and engineering while sharing what makes Montana Tech so special!

Our Mine Technology class had the chance to tour the Yellowstone Talc Mine with around 20 students.

We went to learn more about their radar monitoring system and got a great tour of the mine while we were there. We also got to collect some crystals and even got to see a blast before we headed out for the day.

It was a great trip and a really cool opportunity to get out of the classroom and see what we are learning about firsthand. We are so grateful to the Yellowstone Talc Mine for welcoming us and supporting our students as we continue learning more about the mining industry.

If so, you should swing by and meet our WiM Student Members at the Pint Night Fundraiser on Thursday from 6-9pm at Slainte! We would love to chat about the upcoming semester and learn more about your time since graduating from Tech. A great way to unwind after a long day at Career Fair!

First week of school is all wrapped up! We had an amazing back to school BBQ at the World Museum of Mining. Thank you to the World Museum of Mining for hosting us!

It was so great getting everyone together, welcoming our new students, and catching up with returning students and professors. Such a fun way to kick off the new school year!

What an incredible day to be a Montana Tech Oredigger!

Montana Tech's Mining Engineering Department, represented by Chancellor Johnny MacLean, Professor Chris Roos, and Students Mike Shaw & Jordan Niggemyer, had the privilege of participating in roundtable discussions with the Department of Energy and Department of State about the future of America's mining industry.

In addition to these important conversations, we had the opportunity to witness an incredible milestone for the mining industry. The Trump Administration has announced $100M in grants available to the US Mining Schools to support the critical mineral industry.

The future looks bright for the mining industry, and even brighter for the students entering it. We are incredibly grateful, but the work is just getting started.
