“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” — Mark 10:45
Our Student Leadership Team recently returned from an incredible missions trip to Through the Roof Disability Camp at Bambi Lake in Roscommon, Michigan—a week that left a lasting impact on every heart involved.
Throughout the week, each student was paired with a child or young adult with disabilities, walking alongside them through every activity, meal, and evening event. While our students were there to serve, they quickly discovered they were learning just as much in return. Their presence also gave parents and caregivers the opportunity to participate in camp activities, build friendships, and enjoy moments of rest, knowing their loved ones were being cared for.
It was a week filled with joy, laughter, and unforgettable memories—from carnival games and fishing to a reptile show, talent show, dancing, and so much more. To celebrate the end of an amazing week, the team also visited beautiful Mackinac Island before making the trip home.
Most importantly, our students witnessed the incredible strength, unconditional love, and unwavering dedication of families caring for children and young adults with disabilities. The compassion, gratitude, and friendships that grew throughout the week are reminders that serving others not only blesses those around us—it transforms our own hearts as well.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for, encouraged, and supported our Student Leadership Team throughout the year. Your generosity made this opportunity possible, and we are grateful for the opportunity our students had to be the hands and feet of Christ, reflecting His love through acts of service, compassion, and kindness. We praise God for the lives He touched and for the lasting impact this experience has had on our students.
