Learning came to life in Mrs. Watson’s 2nd grade classroom this week!

Students read Many Kinds of Matter and learned about solids, liquids, and gases. They completed a comprehension project using the story to find information and support their answers.

They also connected their reading and science lessons to Social Studies and Johnny Appleseed by making homemade applesauce! Students watched the solid apples change as they cooked and learned how some of the water turned into water v***r as it heated.

A fun way to bring reading, science, and Social Studies together with a little hands-on learning! 🍎🔬

🇺🇸 A new flag is flying proudly at Butler Catholic! 🇺🇸

We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus who reached out to Congressman Mike Kelly who generously donated a new American flag to our school.

Two of our 8th grade Honor League students will have the special responsibility of raising the flag each morning and lowering it at the end of each school day. It’s a meaningful way for our students to demonstrate responsibility and respect for our country.

Our Garden Club wrapped up its first week with our K–3rd grade students! The students had so much fun exploring the garden, going on a garden scavenger hunt, learning about seeds and plants, and checking out some of the beautiful flowers and vegetables grown right here at BCS. 🌻🍅

We love seeing our Little Saints get their hands dirty and discover just how much there is to learn in the garden!
