It's Friday, so here's a new meme for you. Good descriptions in ASL often use different signs or handshapes for the same concept to provide deeper levels of detail. You'll get a lot of practice doing this in Level II, so practice signing Justin's description and you'll be ahead of your classmates!

A Master ASL! Level Two update: We anticipate Level Two being available in January/February. While not ready for use in this coming fall term, a variety of free print and video materials will be shared here as we move closer to a finalized release date.

While many people want MASL 2 ready for the fall, please understand that we are all working as hard as possible to get the book and more than 1,000 videos into your hands. Meeting all national and state standards, being aligned with Common Core, and developing engaging, meaningful materials that will guide students towards developing intermediate proficiency in ASL and Deaf culture has been a monumental endeavor. We are nearing the finish line and can't wait for you to see what we've been working on!

Feel free to ask questions here about MASL 2.

If you're curious about MASL 2, the first place to start is by visiting www.planeteyeth.com. The site is a significant component of Level Two!

Eyeth is the mythical home of the people of the eye, where life and all of life's conveniences are based on sight rather than sound. In this world, Deaf people form the majority and people who hear are the minority.

Describing something in detail - known as depiction - is a fundamental part ASL. Compare the photos and ASL depiction. How similar are they to each other? Practice copying Justin's depiction and see how well you can describe the video!

Out of many mouth morphemes you could use, Travis would like to explain about "Lr-Lr" mouth morpheme and when should you use it? Watch a clip about an animal and think how you would use "Lr-Lr" mouth morpheme in each special situation. Enjoy!
