The Historical land is where the first Atherton families lived in 1835-present day. Burton township 1855-1972 now the City of Burton, Michigan started in 1835 by the 3 Atherton brothers and nephew Pliny Atherton Skinner, which are the historical family that came from Jefferson County, New York.
