Berkshire Local School District is grateful to the GPD Group Employees' Foundation for supporting resources that strengthen creativity, communication, and hands-on learning for our students.
The grant supports an Ellison SureCut Die-Cut Machine to enrich classroom instruction.
The die-cut machine allows preschool and kindergarten teachers to create hands-on materials that build early literacy, math skills, creativity, and fine motor development.
The Ellison SureCut Die-Cut Machine has already become a valuable classroom resource, helping educators bring engaging learning activities to life.

Students from the Berkshire Middle School Badger Den recently had an unforgettable experience of making applesauce in their classroom. While learning the word "scrumptious" during an Amplify lesson, the students were inspired to make something yummy together. The cooking process, which involved peeling apples and measuring ingredients provided students the opportunity to use their senses, practice taking turns, and follow directions. The hard work and collaborative efforts of the students made the applesauce especially delicious. Congratulations to our Berkshire Middle School Badger Den students for a job well done!

Congratulations to Berkshire High School seniors Matthew Combs, Jaxson Zarzour, and Samantha Snow on being recognized as recipients of the annual Longo Homecoming Scholarship award! On Friday, October 2nd, each scholarship winner was formally presented with a certificate in recognition of their proud accomplishment by Berkshire High School alumnus and the school’s first-ever Homecoming Queen, Mrs. Paula Boykin, who established the scholarship fund.

Matthew Combs was the recipient of the $3,000 annual Longo Homecoming Scholarship, while Jaxson Zarzour and Samantha Snow were recognized as winners of the $1,000 Honorable Mention Longo Homecoming Scholarship. All scholarship awards can be applied towards tuition at a secondary school, which includes a two-year, four-year, or technical school.

Berkshire Local Schools is excited to introduce Badger Bites, a new student-run snack shop that is serving up much more than snacks. Students from our Badger Den and Badger Lab vocational programs are gaining meaningful, hands-on work experience while operating the shop during student study halls and selling a variety of school nutrition-approved snacks. Badger Bay Is Opening to the Public!

With the continued support of Preston Auto Superstore and the addition of our new automotive lift provided by The AED Foundation, Badger Bay will begin offering services to the public on Monday, September 28, 2026.

Services will be available by appointment on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during the regular school year.

Under the guidance of professional technicians and instructors, our Mechanical Technician students will provide the following services:

Maintenance Package

Oil, l**e, and filter change
Tire rotation
Multi-point inspection
Multi-point inspection video
Fluid top-off

Additional Services

Engine air filter replacement
Cabin air filter replacement
Wiper replacement—set of three
Cooling-system exchange
Brake-fluid exchange
Fuel-injection service
Battery service

Preston Superstore generously donates a portion of the proceeds from Badger Bay services back to Berkshire Local Schools. These funds are reinvested directly into our workforce development programs, helping provide equipment, training, and hands-on learning opportunities for our students while creating a sustainable model for the future.

We extend a special thank-you to Preston Auto Superstore and The AED Foundation—the foundation of Associated Equipment Distributors—for supporting our automotive and equipment-technician program. Without committed industry partners like these, opportunities for students to learn with professional equipment, receive guidance from experienced technicians, and serve real customers would not be possible.
