Offering private lessons and small group classes at the beginning and intermediate level to children and adults in Burr Ridge, Willowbrook and surrounding communities. I have been playing the piano for more than 45 years and have been teaching private and group piano for nearly 25 years. Having lived and raised my family in Burr Ridge, I have strong ties to the community and its schools. I continu
e to develop those special and important connections with my studio families. With a warm and creative approach, I cater my teaching to the individual needs and interests of each student while emphasizing musicality, technique, note reading, ear training and music theory through a wide variety of musical genres. My goal is to instill confidence in and a passion for playing the piano! A former piano accompanist for the choir department at Riverside Brookfield High School in Riverside, Illinois, I regularly accompany instrumentalists and vocalists for choral concerts and solo and ensemble contests at several local middle schools and high schools. I am also the keyboardist and music coordinator for the No-Name Band, a contemporary Christian band at the Presbyterian Church of Western Springs in Western Springs, Illinois. I am a member of the Hinsdale Music Club, where I serve on the planning committee for the organization’s annual Young Musicians Festival. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications (emphasis in print journalism) and minors in music and business. I have continued developing my music education and piano pedagogy skills through classes at VanderCook College of Music, Chicago, and Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. Besides playing and listening to all kinds of music (including a lengthy playlist of '80s hairband hits), I enjoy spending time with my family and two cats. I love animals, pilates, biking, reading, writing, eating chocolate and shopping at my “mothership,” TJ Maxx.
