Yesterday we hosted our first open-enrollment Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) class for first responders!

We had officers, firefighters/EMS, and corrections personnel from 9 different agencies across Minnesota come together for a full day of training focused on providing medical care in tactical or dynamic environments.

Students worked through the considerations of when to provide medical care, what treatments to provide and how to provide them, and how to approach patient care when the environment itself may present a threat.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the day a success, including our role players and partners for capturing some photos throughout the training.

We appreciate the trust you put in us to provide this training, and we’re looking forward to the next one!

Yesterday we were back at Polaris's Product Development Center in Wyoming, MN, teaching our ATV & Off-Road Trauma Class!

This was a 6-hour course that Polaris specifically requested after completing our standard 4-hour program and asking for a more in-depth version tailored to their team.

We want to extend a huge thank you to Polaris for inviting us back and for continuing to invest in the safety and preparedness of your employees. It speaks volumes about your commitment to creating a safer workplace.

We're proud that this remains the only ATV & Off-Road Trauma training of its kind offered in Minnesota. Hearing that there were nearly 100 employees on the waiting list for this class was both humbling and exciting. We can't wait to come back and train the next group!

If you're looking for hands-on ATV trauma training that goes beyond videos and bookwork, be sure to follow our page. We'll be announcing future public class openings as they become available.

Thank you again to everyone at Polaris for having us. We'll see you at the next class!

Just over 2 weeks until our Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) course on August 12th in Rosemount, MN!

We have just 2 Law Enforcement spots remaining. Once they're filled, registration is closed.

This is not your typical first aid class. The day begins with classroom instruction and hands-on skill development before transitioning into realistic, scenario-based training. Using custom-built equipment that provides realistic trauma feedback, students will assess, make decisions, and perform lifesaving interventions in dynamic scenarios that replicate real-world injuries—not scripted scenarios or notional injuries on a card.

If you're looking for practical, high-quality medical training that prepares you for the realities of the job, this course is built for you.

Don't miss your chance to train. Register today before the remaining spots are gone.

Does your EMR or medical refresher training do this?

When was the last time you actually saw the bleeding stop after you placed a tourniquet?

When was the last time you packed a wound and could see whether you were actually controlling the hemorrhage?

When was the last time your training equipment forced you to slow down, troubleshoot, and make decisions under pressure?

At Blue Medic Training Solutions, we believe realistic training creates better responders.

That’s why we built our own custom trauma training systems — including bleeding control manikins and wound packing trainers that simulate active bleeding, allow students to visualize their interventions, and provide immediate feedback on whether their skills are working.

Because in a real emergency, there is no instructor standing next to you saying, “Yep, that’s good enough.”
You have to know.

Our courses are built around hands-on, scenario-based training designed for the people who may be the first ones on scene — law enforcement, fire, EMS, security, and other first responders.

If you or your department are looking for training that goes beyond slides and basic mannequins, reach out and see what we can bring to your next training day.

Yesterday, we hosted our first Civilian Trauma Response Course in Rosemount, MN.

Students received hands-on training using custom-built equipment designed to create a more realistic learning experience. Participants practiced applying tourniquets and watched simulated bleeding stop in real time. They also learned wound-packing techniques using simulators that not only produce realistic bleeding, but provide visual feedback when adequate pressure has been applied to control the bleed.

They gained practical experience with nasal airways, chest seals, and other lifesaving interventions that can make a critical difference before EMS arrives on scene.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make our first course a success!

What makes Blue Medic Training Solutions different from the hundreds of first aid or bleeding control training companies in Minnesota?

For starters, we design and build much of our own training equipment with one goal in mind: give students clear, visual feedback so they know when they're performing a skill correctly.

Over the last week, I've been rebuilding our external wound-packing pump system that i built last year. This pump is similar to the sytem I instal inside our manikins to practice tourniquet application. Most training companies use a simple squeeze bottle, and while that works, it doesn't provide consistent pressure, blood flow, or great visual indicators on when the wound is actually being packed correctly.

Our system uses a pump that creates a pulsing flow to simulate an arterial bleed. When the wound is actively "bleeding," the pump displays a red light. Once the student applies proper pressure and successfully occludes the artery, the resulting back pressure is detected by the system. The pump automatically stops and the indicator changes to green, providing immediate confirmation that the technique is working. If pressure is released, the pump starts bleeding again and the light returns to red.

Is it a perfect recreation of human anatomy? No—and it's not meant to be. But it gives students immediate positive reinforcement, builds confidence, and helps them understand when they've successfully controlled a life-threatening hemorrhage.

We're always looking for ways to make our training more realistic, more engaging, and more effective.
