Every curriculum we choose at Wild Haven is selected with intention. 💛 We look for resources that align with our Christian values, encourage wonder 💫and critical thinking, and inspire a love of learning. We’ve been shaped by the Charlotte Mason model, getting outside and our own desire to provide more movement in the classroom.

We love these homeschool curriculums: Wild Math (Kindergarten), Math (1st-5th grade), (history/geography), (phonics), (Spelling 2nd-3rd grade), Using Language Well (grammar & spelling 4th-5th grade), (nature study: science, poetry, art, handwriting, bible, reading) 🌳📚📝

In addition to these, we manage to fit in short daily ASL lessons, craft time and plenty of math game time. Our students definitely enjoy “gameschooling”. Altogether this creates a meaningful, well-rounded learning experience for our students.

If you’re still looking for a microschool or homeschool collaborative, we would love to invite you to our open house. Wild Haven is a small community with a goal of 25 to 30 students, K-5. This will be our third year of microschool. Jonathan and Jodea are a husband and wife team that cofounded and teach Wild Haven Microschool in Burnsville, Minnesota.

Jodea has over 20 years of teaching experience in elementary school as well as homeschooling her own children for a handful of years. We still have some space left for the upcoming school year and would love to show you around and answer any questions you might have. We love our outdoor space as we are right next-door to a beautiful park with 50 acres including open space to play, a playground, and woods with trails. We use mostly Christian homeschool curriculums. Please message us with any questions you might have.

We are gearing up for YEAR THREE at Wild Haven Microschool. We’re always excited to see what God is stirring in our hearts for the upcoming year and so thrilled to share our NEW logo!

I love that in Deuteronomy it talks about the Lord being like an eagle who hovers over their nest of chicks. And that same word hover is in Genesis talking about the Holy Spirit hovering over the waters when he was creating the Earth.

Just as the Spirit hovered over creation, preparing it for God’s good work, He hovers over our lives, bringing peace, direction, and growth. He is an awesome protector and provider. He guides us in all that we do. We see ourselves as a tree that is rooted and established in Him. And we are under his wings!

“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1
