All skill levels, ages, and abilities welcome! No prior gardening experience necessary!
In the Fall of 2024, a group of parents, students, faculty and community members worked tirelessly over 4 days to remodel the front gardens of Gideon Pond. Volunteers planted over 400x perennial plants! After a long and rainy growing 2025 season, it’s time to check-in for maintenance .
Here’s the tasks we will focus on:
· Weeding
· Planting Replacement of any dead plants.
· Install filler plants to enhance design.
· Transplanting (as needed)
• Applying mulch (as needed)
• soring cutback
• making bee hotels!
What to bring?
• Hand tools ARE BEST—garden knives, weeding tools, hand spades, etc.
• Gloves
• Foam kneeler
• Buckets with handles
• Scissors or pruners.
• Large paper bags (like the kind you put leaves in)
• Wheelbarrows or garden carts
• Proper attire for getting messy and closed toed shoes.
We will work rain or shine, cold or hot.
• Water bottle
