Alden's school of leather trades is a small leather shop devoted to preserving traditional leather crafting.

After a Life time of making quality leather goods, the Alden family has decided to share their knowledge and passion for the leather business. We offer a range of leather courses including Chap making, Floral carving and design, Traditional skills, Holster making, and Western boot making

I may not look excited in this video but rest assured, I am very excited! Floral design is one of my favorite things and I really enjoy sharing it. If you're interested in refining your skills or just getting started, this class is for you.

Expect delays in communication and shipping on supply orders. There are at least 5 major fires burning in Harney County and one right on the edge of Burns, Oregon that is over 85,000 acres. We are in a good spot but many of our friends are not. We have been preparing property, evacuating friends and spent the day yesterday with a group of local non firefighters defending two friends houses as resources are spread thing and trying to protect the town of Burns.

School might be out for the summer but not for these c**ts. You may have noticed we haven't had any classes on this summers schedule. The majority of my life growing up was spent around horses, from going shoeing with my dad, riding c**ts, rodeo and helping friends work on their ranch when I got the chance. Those were the days! I appreciated them then, and have longed for them since life got busy and starting a business and family took priority. We have reached the point experiences are worth more than money. I want to give my child the same memories I hold dear. That requires a shift in priorities. Living in Burns, Oregon there is a limited time for out door activity if winter decides to show up. You will see less classes available for the warm months as we plan to spend them outdoors as much as possible while running Alden Leather Supply LLC if you're interested in classes they will be limited to the fall winter, and spring where the weather might not be ideal for stepping on a c**t for it's first ride. Summers I plan to ship orders for the supply business and spend as much time in the saddle as possible making memories with the family. Thank you all for the support! We are blessed to do what we love and live the life we do.

Here is a little trick for stitching your hardware on with out scratching up your leather where things get thick.

We haven't really posted much in the shop lately. We have been in a season of projects. Working on the shop, working on the garden, building fence, teaching and keeping up with here are a couple of shots from this month's purse making class. Hope you all are doing well!

Had a great time this week helping these guys learn to draw and carve some leather. They went from little experience to drawing patterns from scratch directly on their leather.

I have two students this week for our floral carving and design class. Neither have done much drawing and just a little bit of tooling before coming. They drew these patterns and tooled them on day three. We still have a couple of spots left in our July 14-18 floral carving and design class in Wi******er Kentucky.

We had an Amazing time in our floral carving and design class a couple weeks ago. A lot of talented people. We have two spots in our class April 28- May 2 and a few spots in our July 14-18 class in Wi******er Kentucky.
