A polyploid in this case a Triploid or tetraploid, it’s a sterile genetic mutation a chromosomal abnormality. With three cotyledons and three first true leaf, Instead of the normal two true leaf (diploid). Polyploidization can be induced to create purposely “sterile donkey like genetics” it refers to the multiplication of a complete chromosome set of a certain species to give birth to a new species.
