To any class who may be planning a reunion.

The Class of 1974 just celebrated their 50th Class Reunion. Just the other day, we learned that Home Economics teacher, Miss Knickerbocker, handmade banners for each graduating class while she worked there. We had no idea our banner even existed. It’s 3‘ x 5‘ and all hand sewn. It’s been sitting in storage at the high school for 50 years unbeknownst to us. It’s in pristine condition and beautiful. Apparently, ours is one of the few with a white background, most are blue. We were permitted to borrow it for the reunion. So that was a nice surprise. It’s was on display for the evening & the photographer used it in the group picture.

If you’re planning a reunion, contact the school to see if there is a banner for your class that you can borrow. They iron up nicely. While I am not sure of the exact years, it’s my understanding that there are banners ranging from the 1960s till she retired we believe in 2001 or 2002. I’ve been informed that Miss Knickerbocker.married fellow teacher, Tim Allen, and is now living in Pennsylvania.

One Week Countdown!! Reminder: A Touch of Class sits back off of Route 130 on the grounds of the Hunters Glen Apartment Complex. Don’t forget to bring your memorabilia. Looking forward to seeing everyone! Class of 74!

We’ve had a great response for the Reunion so far. Excited to see all the new faces this time. We are also working on a possible surprise guest appearance. As stated previously, this will be the last evening reunion with all the bells and whistles. Your committee is going into semi-retirement. 😀 Going forward for future reunions, we’ll be doing a brunch or a luncheon. Although we’ve passed the RSVP date, if you’re interested in attending our 50th, please contact Carol Boccolini as soon as possible to arrange for payment. Details are in the comments.
