Today is September 11th. It's a day that reminds many of us that life can change quickly. It's easy to forget that though. We think tomorrow will always be there, just as it always has been.

Which gives us the perfect excuse to put things off.

Sometimes it's something we fear, but just as frequently we put off doing something that would bring us joy.

I can't think of a better day to reflect on how we're living and whether we're truly satisfied with the choices we're making.

If you are satisfied, bravo! Keep doing what you're doing. 👏

If you aren't, then change things up. 📈

Despite one-off events and the overall seemingly randomness of life, we have way more control than we tend to think. So I encourage you to let go of the "shoulds", seek out more of what you want, and embrace the freedom that follows.

If you get caught up thinking that kind of behavior may be selfish, think again because it's not - it's self-care. And in embracing that, you're modeling healthy choices.

If you need even another reason to let go of what's not working, then live your best life in honor of anyone who wasn't able to, or didn't get a chance to keep doing so.

Clutter Control 101- The Definitive E-Course To Help You Declutter Your Life For Good 07/31/2021

I don't want anyone to miss out on this - the Clutter Control 101 E-Course bundle is just $19 (a ninety percent savings!), but for a limited time. ⏰

If you're ready for lasting decluttering success, keep reading because what I teach is almost certainly what's been missing from your attempts.

It's not magic though. At least not the wand-waving, p**f the clutter is gone, and everything is perfect kind.

It's more like practical magic. That's my term for the change that happens when we stop seeking quick fixes and actually address the root causes that keep us stuck. 🔮

For example, we can't successfully declutter our lives and keep them clutter-free unless we become aware of our habits and how they impact accumulation and dispossession. If we can't see how our behavior connects to clutter, nothing changes.

And habits are what stand between us and a clutter-free, organized, intentional life.

Truth: Habits are generally what stands between us and anything we want.

Do you know that habits can actually be created from a single event? 😲

We generally think it requires repetitive practice, and while that definitely helps, there's a faster way to get a habit to stick.

It has to do with our emotions and, believe it or not, celebrations. What?! Yup, that's more of the practical magic I am talking about. 🎉

Emotions are also what keeps us tethered to our clutter.

But with the right mindset shifts, we can sever those ties and we can confidently cast away anything and everything that doesn't serve us well.

And while I don't trade in fairly dust promises, I am kind of brilliant at helping people shift their mindset and beliefs so they can live their best lives. 💎

Another thing I know is that consistency is key. I bet you know that too. I also bet it may be a challenge to maintain consistent action when it comes to decluttering.

But without even knowing you, I know you are more than cable of consistency, in fact, I know you excel at it. I can show you how to tap into that consistency so you can apply it to decluttering and anything else you want to achieve. 🏆

Here's the bottom line, as a professional organizer and clutter coach, I know what it takes to address the root causes of clutter issues.

Clutter isn’t just about stuff – like I said, mindset and emotions play a huge role. Mental barriers are real and I’ll show you how to break through them! 💪

The best part is I can help people right where they are, with Clutter Control 101, a professionally guided, self-paced, e-course.

If you don't me already, let me introduce myself. I'm Kelly Jayne McCann, professional organizer, clutter coach and intentional living advocate.

For well over a decade I've been helping people clear clutter, get organized, and find happiness along the way.

But the story here isn't about me, it's really about you.

I created Clutter Control 101 because I know how debilitating a cluttered life can be.

I have seen far too many people settle– merely surviving instead of thriving - just because they couldn't figure out how to get a handle on the clutter in their lives.

Clutter often becomes a source of stress, frustration, or even embarrassment, and no one deserves to live with those feelings. And with Clutter Control 101, no one has to.

We go step by step, through the process of taking charge and clearing clutter for good. ♥

Clutter Control 101 is about more than clearing the current clutter, it’s about building the habits and awareness that will help participants maintain a clutter-free life for the long term.

Participants will gain the skills and insight that foster empowerment and confidence. Real confidence that makes fear and worries over regret shrink away. 👏

The end result will be that they will know exactly how to put an end to clutter for good and be on their way to organized living – which saves time, stress, and money!

The investment is absolutely affordable for anyone. It's just $19 right now, which is a 90% savings! And it's got a risk-free guarantee built in so there is nothing to lose and everything to gain.

This the straight-up truth about having clutter....

Having clutter is hard.

Clearing clutter is hard.

One is going to be hard forever, one is going to be hard temporarily.

Choose your hard and you choose your future.

So, which hard do you want to live with?

That's not a rhetorical question, I'd really like you to think about it. And if you're so moved, let me know what you decide - just hit reply and share your thoughts.

We should never underestimate the influence our environment has on us. Elements, like unfinished projects or never-used aspirational purchases, send subtle messages that can undermine our confidence and create stress.

We may not even recognize how damaging the situation is because it's so insidious. But make no mistake, it impacts our well-being in a significant way.

The healthiest thing we can do is give ourselves permission to clear those items away.

Of course, that's often easier said than done. Especially when it comes to items where the purchase price is memorable, either because it was somewhat significant or because it feels wasted.

How to reconcile the fact that we've spent *good money* on an item with the reality that it's no longer adding value to our lives (or maybe never did) is a thorny issue.

And it's exactly what I'm talking about in this episode of Decluttered by Design. I'd love to know what you think, so please share your thoughts.

No matter what you may be celebrating this holiday season, keep in mind that it's not about the stuff. It never is. It never was.

Our experiences are what bring meaning to our lives.

Happy experiences don't have the lock on meaning; meaning can come from a situation where we experience emotional growth (generally not super comfortable, but a gift in the end, right?).

For most people, this holiday season is anything but normal, so the traditional festivities may be missing. That's not necessarily a bad thing though.

The way I see it, this year brings us a unique opportunity to exercise that super power that we all have access to, and that is making the best out of what we've been served up. In other words, there's an opportunity for emotional growth.

I believe that when an experience brings growth, even when it's uncomfortable, we can still find joy. Joy in the fact that we are more resilient than we thought and stronger than we imagined.

So may you find meaning in your experiences and may you find joy in finding the meaning. Merry Christmas!

As we roll into the holiday season, where the haves and the have-nots become more obvious, I want to encourage everyone to remember that clutter is a signal we have more than enough - it's an indicator of the wealth we have.⠀

But even when you recognize that, I know that letting go of the excess can make you feel like you are "giving stuff up", that you are losing out on something. That makes the clutter clearing process feel more bitter than sweet. ⠀

To make it feel better, what if instead you looked at your stuff with appreciation and gratitude? What if you gave your stuff proper recognition for having served you well over time?⠀

What if you thanked it for having done its job, whether that was being practically useful or teaching you a lesson? And then what if you asked the item to go serve someone else as well?⠀

What I'm suggesting will help you change your mindset from loss to abundance. Instead of feeling like you are losing, you'll feel like you're sharing.⠀

What this process does is leverage natural tendencies of human nature. Our ego hates to lose as much as it loves to give. So why not trigger our desire to be seen as generous and giving, instead of triggering the fear of loss?
