During the month of January, many of our Lower School classes learned about Lunar New Year. South Korean students visited classrooms last week to discuss their culture, while members of Storybook STEM studied the science of light and sound through the creation of lanterns and sound powered snakes. Our studies culminated this morning in a Lower School parade. Happy Lunar New Year! 🐍🎊🎇

In December, our Lower School teachers participated in a toy exchange amongst themselves in lieu of gifts. The toys were recently donated to Lenox Baker Children's Hospital in Durham, who provide rehabilitation therapies, developmental support, and other specialty services for Duke Children’s Hospital. The donations were made in loving memory of nine-year-old Dominick Lawrence, a family friend of Mrs. Farrell and Mrs. Mac, who passed away this fall after his battle with cancer.
