Nataraja Dance Company

Nataraja Dance Company Contemporary Tribal Fusion Dance Company Nataraja Dance Company was founded in February of 2011, by directors and dancers Grace Oriel and Jenny Cale.

Nataraja Dance Company is a professional Contemporary Tribal Fusion dance troupe that specializes in Tribal Fusion Belly Dance, ATS, ITS, and Egyptian/Contemporary dance forms. Nataraja Dance Company is available for special events and performances, ad we offer ongoing workshops in the Burlington VT area, and nationwide. Grace, the co-founder and director of the company, teaches weekly classes Tuesday and Thursday nights at Nataraja Studios, conveniently located in downtown on College Street. Heather Leona and Charlie Brewer later became company members and founders, and the group was formed. Originating as a Bellydance company, Nataraja Dance Company specializes in Tribal Fusion Belly Dance and now has become a collaboration of dancers and dance styles including Contemporary, Hip-Hop, East Indian, Egyptian "Raqs Sharqi", Yoga Flow, and Flamenco movement forms. Nataraja Dance Company is now in collaboration with the Sacred Body Dance Company, and Nataraja Studios, offering world class dance performances, and a scholarship movement program for under-privileged young adults. Please come support our local performances and community involvement! Nataraja is the name of Shiva when it embodies the dance of death and rebirth. We hope to embody the sacredness of movement and dance for the sake of healing and empowerment!
