Burlington School Food Project

Don't forget! BSD will be offering FREE, 7-day meal boxes for children beginning Wednesday, July 30. Families can pick up boxes at the Intervale Center from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. The meal boxes will contain food for seven breakfasts and seven lunches. Parents can pick up a box for each child in their home. No registration is required and children do not need to be present. The boxes will be available for pick-up on Wednesdays, July 30, August 6, and August 13. State to issue summer EBT cards to supplement school meals - Vermont Daily Chronicle This new benefit provides $120 per child, which families can use to purchase fruits, vegetables, meat, poultry, and fish, dairy products; breads and cereals, and other foods such as snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages.

Our Fork in The Road Food Truck is BACK! We will be serving lunch tomorrow (Friday) from 11-2 in the Champlain Elementary Parking lot. We will also be there Fri 7/14, Thu 7/20, Fri 7/28 and maybe 8/10. Stop on by for fresh, local and support students!

Happy first day of school, Burlington! We are so happy to be back in the kitchens and seeing our students.

As a reminder, now that school has started, our Family Meal Kit program has come to an end. This means we won’t be out at our pick ups locations today and throughout the school year.

We are sad to end this great program but are happy to report we distributed over 25,000 Family Meal Kits since the program started in September of 2020!

We have so many people to thank for the success of this program but ultimately we thank all of the families who visited us at our Meal Kit sites over the year. This program was a success because of you!

Special thanks to our farmers, our student volunteers and of course our inspiring and dedicated school nutrition team. We could not have done this without you! Today is the last day of Meal Kit distribution. It has been so wonderful to be able to offer this service to our community.

Today’s meal boxes include: Vermont grown zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, and lettuce from Pomykala Farm as well as Vermont maple!
