If your dog is not spayed you should be aware that there is a high risk of a severe infection of their uterus known as a pyometra.

We recommend spaying and neutering at appropriate ages, but if you do not spay your cat or dog, be aware of the risk. If a pyometra is left untreated it is life-threatening for the patient.

This patient presented to us for vomiting, vaginal discharge, lethargy, and not eating. It was confirmed the patient was dealing with a pyometra. An emergency spay procedure was performed to remove the patient's uterus.

This 8lb uterus was removed from a 56lb dog.

A lame picture (quality), but Kima is enjoying her hand me down heated bed from another kitty that wasn’t using it. She’s been an unusual cat, as she likes to be cool. The total opposite of Chester. She’s 18, slowing down,& actually rarely leaves this bed since I brought it home.
