The Burlington Elementary Brew Crew opened up this week and served their first customers! Staff was able to order five flavors of iced coffee, three different dirty sodas, or a delicious October-themed dessert. Students practiced taking orders, serving, handling money, and using manners. Wow! This stuff was amazingly delicious!

Mrs. Runyon’s 4th graders celebrated the completion of their novel study on Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillio. It was a fun day making memories they will have forever!

Throughout the novel study, students learned about empathy, friendship, character development, and important ELA skills. Today, they made comparisons between the book and the movie.📚 Some students tried egg salad sandwiches for the first time and approved! 😋

October 16 is Apple Butter and Pumpkin Days at The B! The apple butter making starts at 4 AM, and we are looking for volunteers. We will need at least four volunteers all day long. Once the school day starts, all students will have a chance to stir the kettle and help in creating the delicious treat from our Burlington recipe. Hatcher's Greenhouse will be greeting children as they arrive on hayrides. This has become a cherished yearly tradition for us. Contact us on how you can help!
