Come on by the Davis Center for free samples from The Halal Shack. This restaurant serves American Halal food which is described as a mix of Mediterranean flavors, savory Middle Eastern spices, and classic American style prepared following Islamic dietary guidelines to create a delicious and healthy eating experience. For those observing the fast for Ramadan, there will be containers to-go so you can sample the food once you break your fast for the day. UVM Dining is exploring bringing this vendor to campus to fill the “Brennan’s Pub” space – so come check out the food and share your thoughts about having them on campus permanently!

Khalid Latif is the University Chaplain for New York University and Executive Director of the Islamic Center at NYU. Imam Latif will speak about the ways in which young Muslims can be leaders in their communities in connection to the Seerah of the Prophet (PBUH). We are excited to partner with Middlebury College’s MSA this Ramadan. Kicking off with a community discussion Saturday afternoon, we hope to provide space to process the challenges of the past year. Isolation has taken toll on many people's mental health and impacted religious observances. With this in mind, how can we support each other and our goals for this Ramadan.

As the Muslim Student Association, we have decided to write a letter addressing the non-Black Muslim community. Although this letter is long overdue, it’s never too late to take action. We urge ALL of you to act now. Please check out the list of resources we’ve compiled.

Join us at Dr. Megan Goodwin's talk on race, religion, and resistance of covering women on Thursday, April 5th at 2:50 in the Chittenden Bank Room at the Davis Center! Dr. Goodwin is a professor at Northeastern University who is currently doing work in media, pop culture, and Islamaphobia. This will be an exciting lecture and we are excited to see you there!
