We are hoping to expand our fiber arts programming and begin offering spinning wheel workshops here in Boone County. To make that possible, we are in the process of sourcing working spinning wheels for participants to use during classes.

Do you have a spinning wheel that's sitting unused? Perhaps it belonged to a family member, or maybe your own fiber interests have taken a different direction. If so, please consider donating it to our Community Arts program.

Your wheel could help introduce a new generation of spinners to a craft with deep cultural and historical roots.

Functional wheels in any style (castle, saxony, or portable) or age may be considered. If you're unsure if the wheel you have is functional or if you have a wheel you'd like to donate, please send Janice, our Extension Program Assistant for Community Arts, at [email protected] or you can call our office at 859-586-6101.

Our Boone County 4-H Teen Leadership Club is seeking vendors for their 2026 Holiday Market!

November 21 & 22 from 11 AM – 3 PM

Located at the Boone County Enrichment Center (Lower-Level), 1824 Patrick Drive, Burlington KY

Hosted by the Boone County 4-H Teen Leadership Club, the Holiday Market is part of the club’s civic engagement project for this program year.

As a teen-led club, members discussed what was important to them and chose Children & Families as their focus. After learning about local organizations and the work they do, the teens selected the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center as the community organization they want to support through this year’s Holiday Market.

This event gives our teens the opportunity to put leadership into action by planning, promoting, and hosting an event that makes a difference in their community.
