Despite all of the wintery distractions, some of the biggest and best opportunities in the world of university entrepreneurship are open right now.
Rice’s BPC
Tulane’s BMC
MIT Water Innovation Prize
TCU’s Value and Ventures
Draper Competition for Collegiate Women Entrepreneurs
We’ve got some heavy hitters in that group.
While you have a little bit of a buffer before the next deadline (January 15th), it’s better to get your plan of attack ready now. There’s hundreds of thousands of dollars of non-dilutive grant funding up for grabs after all.

It’s somehow November 1st, meaning we’re entering the home stretch of the calendar year.
Yes, believe it or not, there are just 2 months left in 2021. That’s scarier than Halloween to me.
So what’s on the horizon for the rest of the year?
There are a couple of BIG DEADLINES tonight (Baylor New Venture Competition & Amazon US University Startup Competition) so be sure you get those in ASAP if you were thinking about applying.
A BIG ask from me to all my University E-Ship staff folks: please spread the good word and forward these opportunities to your students. As the school year goes on, I will be sharing millions of dollars of grant funding available to student entrepreneurs, in addition to other accelerator programs, jobs/internship opportunities, and my own student startup spotlights. These are the types of resources that can set student entrepreneurs on the trajectory to become full-time founders. For that reason, I just want to make sure as many student entrepreneurs as possible are aware of these opportunities.
