Introducing our newest member!
 
K9 Gaby is assigned to Explosive Detection Canine Handler Ken LaVigne. Ken and Gaby operate out of the New England Region, based in Vermont, for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Federal Protective Service (FPS). Gaby was born in Germany and is a graduate of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Canine Training Center at Lackland AFB in San Antonia, Texas. Ken and Gaby are certified as an explosive detection team, and their primary mission is to protect federal facilities. Gaby’s favorite toy is a kong ball. Gaby loves to work, play fetch, soak up attention, and go for a relaxing swim in beaver ponds.

We love when VINS comes to visit our classroom in ASCI 1000. Thank you for helping our fathered friends!

A female American Goshawk came to our Center for Wild Bird Rehabilitation on August 22 after being found on the ground.

During her examination, our team found signs of head trauma. She was also thin and had a significant number of flat flies, which are external parasites.

Our rehabilitation team is now caring for her and monitoring her condition. Every patient that comes through our doors has a different story, and cases like hers offer an opportunity to learn more about the challenges wild birds face.
