🌼 The 2026 Youth Garden Grant transformed the Garden & Nature Club at P.S. 88Q in Ridgewood, NY. New supplies, raised beds, and educational resources helped the program grow from a small after-school gardening group into a school-wide environmental education initiative.

Students explore pollinators, birding, composting, and nutrition, while families, staff, and community partners join in through nature walks, garden workdays, and volunteering. 🦋

For teacher and club leader Corin Harmon, the garden is also personal: "a love letter to my grandparents and my father," who passed down a love of gardening. That legacy came full circle when a student, after harvesting lettuce, said, "I can't wait to show my family what I grew." In Harmon's words, the funding "has helped transform a personal legacy into a shared community experience." 💚

In 1982, we awarded our first Youth Garden Grants. 44 years later, it’s the longest-running program of its kind—helping 5,700+ schools and youth organizations grow gardens where kids discover nature, build confidence, and connect with their community.

This year, our goal is $50,000 to fund 50 Youth Garden Grants. We’re already halfway there thanks to generous donors and partners—now we need YOU to help close the gap.

Every gift, big or small, brings us closer to supporting another youth garden. Show your support today! 💚

🌱 Help Us Fund the Next Youth Garden!

Since 1982, KidsGardening's Youth Garden Grant has helped under-resourced schools and youth organizations grow gardens where kids learn, play, and connect with their communities. It's the longest-running youth garden grant program of its kind in the country. 💚

It takes $1,000 to fully fund one Youth Garden Grant — and every gift, big or small, gets us closer. In 2026 alone, the Youth Garden Grant reached nearly 11,000 kids through 30 programs across 22 states and territories! 🌻

Let's grow that number together. Give today and help more kids dig in, grow, and thrive. 🥕 https://givebutter.com/support-the-26-youth-garden-grant-copy-furs9w
