Prairie View Art took 1st Place at League!!!!! So many ribbons and honors and I did not get enough pictures! The dedication, drive and passion is evident in all the beautiful work made this year—I am so proud of our PV artists 🦬 💚

We brought home the 3D Best of Show, by Melinzie Barnett, and our 3D team got 1st place in the on-sight ceramic sculpture challenge. They had to create a full chess board and pieces in 2 hours in a theme drawn from a hat! We also swept the Ceramic Wheel Throwing category, taking 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable mention and we almost swept Ceramic Sculpture and Photography as well!

We had so much fun at the Raku Fest at Neosho Community College!! The kids got to throw, glaze and fire Raku—which is the rapid removal of pieces from the kiln while glowing hot, creating thermal shock, and then placing them in combustible materials, which produces distinct cracking, color variations, and unique, imperfect designs. Fun day, and even more fun artists!!
