2-Week Post-Op Update: Clinical Hypnosis in Action 🏥✨
Two weeks ago today, I had surgery for a partial knee replacement. This is my 3rd update in relation to that experience and my use of pre- and post-op medical hypnosis.
I decided to use my own recovery as a real-time test of pre- and post-op clinical self-hypnosis—and the results speak for themselves. Scientific studies show clinical hypnosis can accelerate recovery times and significantly reduce reliance on pain meds. Here’s how my own "experiment" is going:
• Minimal Meds: Completely off daytime pain medication, using only a light dose at night to rest comfortably.
• Smart Mobility: Staples are out! My home PT, Sean, gave me some great self-care advice today—keep a cane handy for outdoor "walkabouts" and keep the walker nearby just for morning stiffness.
• Top 10% Progress: After navigating the yard and driveway, my PT rated my recovery in the top 10% of home healthcare patients he sees. I’ll take that gold star! ⭐
My next major milestone will be in four weeks for my final release visit with Dr. Bowers.
