Happy Summer! Burlington Rotary Club is looking for Host Families for the Rotary International Youth Exchange Program. We have an incoming student from Brazil who will attend Burlington High School this fall. Host Families are responsible for Housing, meals, and transportation for 3.5 months. Parents with students at BHS are encouraged to apply and others may also apply. Host Families will be vetted as per Rotary International requirements. Burlington Rotary Club has sponsored many youth exchange students both outgoing and incoming. This is a fun, enriching, and educational program for all involved.

Have you heard? There's a Hero Among Us! Troy Austin, BHS campus safety liaison and organizer/founder of Troys Toy Drive was recognized by the Boston Celtics this past weekend! In 2015 he began collecting toys from the community to give to youth in need. Since then, Troy Austin has helped the community to donate more than 10,000 toys! The Celtics provided Troy with dinner, tickets, parking, and a tour of the front office. In true Troy fashion, he said "the most important thing was getting the toy drive out to people in the community." Congrats Troy and thank you for all you do for our students and staff in the building for kids all over Vermont... you really are a Hero Among Us!

Congratulations Jane!
Please join us in congratulating Jane Sitek Shaver who has been named the 2024 recipient of the Mary E. Pease Good Citizenship Award!
Each year this award is decided by a vote of the faculty, recognizing the senior student who shows qualities of good citizenship. The faculty chose Jane as the recipient of this award at the end of last year, but due to an error, the award was not recognized at graduation. We are sorry about that mistake and hope you all will join us now in congratulating Jane on this well-deserved recognition!

This is Ahmed Diawara. Show him some love in the comments!!! Not only does he look awesome competing in sunglasses, but he is also up for Athlete of the Week in the Free Press after a dominant performance at the BHS Track and Field Invitational last Saturday! He's an exceptional talent in so many sports, but he stood out against the best competition in the state, winning three races on his home track. Cast your vote to support Ahmed before midnight Thursday! https://t.co/BNsf21w4RB
