Caring For Our School 202-2027 (https://theburlingtonschool.networkforgood.com/)

Future Foward - Spartan Center (https://tinyurl.com/4k3u5td8) The Burlington School is an independent, nonsectarian, coeducational school which seeks to maintain a relaxed small school atmosphere in which each student can develop individually in an academically challenging, safe and secure learning environment. Recognizing that education is a lifelong process involving the total person, we believe that our duty is to help prepare each student to become an independent, creative and critical thinker by providing a variety of experiences for achieving success. To this end our students pursue opportunities in the arts, athletics, community service and leadership within a traditionally structured academic environment. We invite you to consider The Burlington School experience for your child. While cost may present an issue, we encourage you to explore our programs to determine if they are the best option for your family. If so, we will work with you through financial aid and/or scholarships to help make it a reality.

🏘️ Kindergarten students in Mrs. Kate’s and Mrs. Su’s classes put their public speaking skills to work with their Community Projects! Students chose a community helper, created a building to match, and worked together to design their ideal communities before presenting to other Lower School classes.

We’re proud of the confidence these young Spartans are building!

A little science, a lot of sweetness! 🍬 Fifth graders in Mrs. Smith’s science class have been learning about matter and mixtures, so they put their lessons to the test by creating a class “Candy Salad.” Candy corn, gummy worms, sweet and sour gummies, marshmallows, Nerds Gummy Clusters, and more all went into the mix. Learning about matter never tasted so good! 🧪🍭

The Junior SGA made a splash with its rubber duck race! Middle and Upper School students, along with teachers, cheered as ducks raced down a water-soaked tarp, with gift cards waiting for the lucky winners.

A big thank-you to junior class officers President Nora, Vice President Hayden, and Representatives Alexis and Graylie for leading the fun! Proceeds support Prom, advisory supplies, pancake breakfasts, and other student-led events that bring our Spartan community together. Go Spartans!

Our PS4 Spartans spent September learning about our community and the people who help it thrive!

To wrap up their study, students visited the Nido & Mariana Qubein Children’s Museum, where they brought their learning to life through hands-on play. They explored community jobs, discovered exciting STEM exhibits, splashed in the water play area, and finished their adventure with a carousel ride!

What a fun way to connect classroom learning with the world around them!

Our 8th graders took Spartan Week to the coast for a few days of science, exploration, and adventure! 🌊

Working with UNCW’s marine science programs, students put learning into action by designing and testing underwater ROVs, investigating DNA, exploring squid anatomy, kayaking, and studying North Carolina’s coastal ecosystems.

Students also enjoyed time together at Carolina Beach, including games, the boardwalk, and ice cream, before wrapping up their trip with a tour of the Battleship North Carolina in Wilmington.

From hands-on marine science to history and plenty of time with classmates, it was a Spartan Week full of learning, adventure, and great memories!

Seniors Take on St. Augustine! ☀️

Our seniors are soaking up Spartan Week in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida! The Class of 2027 has enjoyed time at the beach and pool, taken on the zipline and obstacle courses at the Alligator Farm, and experienced St. Augustine from the water during a sunset cruise.

They’re also exploring the history and sights of downtown St. Augustine with a trolley tour before enjoying dinner together at Beaches at Vilano.

A great mix of adventure, history, and time together for our seniors during their final Spartan Week at TBS!
