As we celebrate World Opera Day on October 25th, we invite you to join us in recognizing the power of opera to inspire, connect, and enrich our lives. At Opera Vermont, we are proud to continue this tradition here in our beautiful state.
As a gift and vote of confidence in the direction of Opera Vermont transitioning from BARN OPERA, and sharing our brand of nationally and internationally-recognized opera, we have been given a tremendous gift by an Opera Vermont supporter in the way of a matching fund!

Local opera singer and performer Bre Valdez is now offering in-person (Rutland, VT) and virtual voice lessons for all ages!

Bre Valdez is a 24-year-old classical musician and Vermonter that has a passion for teaching and performing. She has performed in venues across the state, country, and abroad. Bre recently made her international debut as "Musetta" in Puccini's opera La Bohème during her studies in Cesenatico, Italy in July 2023. In January 2024, Bre will give a performance at Carnegie Hall during Vinceró Academy's annual concert gala.
Lessons will be tailored to the passions and interests of each student!
Each week students will:
- Have the option to study popular, musical theatre, and classical singing styles and techniques.
- Learn how to improve their intonation, pitch, and rhythm skills.
- Learn how to improve their breath support, strength, and control.
- Learn how to improve their stage presence and cope with feelings of nervousness.
- Have the option to be taught basic piano and music reading skills.
- Complete a personalized lesson plan tailored to target their desired skills and interests.
In Person Lesson Rates:
Adults - $75 for an hour-long lesson
Teens - $45 for a 45-minute lesson
Kids - $40 for a half-hour lesson
Virtual Lesson Rates:
Adults - $65 for an hour-long lesson
Teens - $35 for a 45-minute lesson
Kids - $30 for a half-hour lesson
