Mrs. Marxer's preschool class celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by reading the story, 'Paletero Man'. This story is about a pushcart vendor who sells traditional Mexican paletas, which are fruit pops. Mrs. Marxer's class talked about the difference between the ice cream truck that is frequently outside our school at dismissal and and a pushcart. Some students observed that our ice cream is creamy and made from milk, whereas paletas are made from fruit. The class listened to the song that goes with the book and then made their own fruit pops! What a delicious learning experience!
