mbles and classes. Her teaching career began in Mountain View, at the Community School of Music and Art in 1978. She taught at a variety of music stores, including Campbell Music Center, before concentrating her efforts to full-time in the Boye Violin and Viola Studio. A Bachelor of Creative Arts from San Jose State University, Tyane also pursued over 40 years of violin and viola lessons with Marjorie McFarland (Dallas Symphony), Asbjorn Finess (S.F Opera Orchestra), Beatrice Ross (pupil of Raphael Bronstein), and most recently, Clarice Horelick of Menlo Park, CA. Tyane was active in the Peninsula Symphony until 1985, and she has performed regularly with a number of pop groups, such as Paul Price's Society Orchestra, Black Tie Jazz Orchestra, and Bellows and Bow Accordion and Violin Duo. She has performed at the Scott Joplin Festival and West Coast Ragtime Festival and for ballroom dances hosted by the Varsity Dance Club of Palo Alto. She also formed the Citation String Trio, the Fountain Ridge String Trio, and the New Chameleon String Quartet which performed at weddings and special events. Tyane played regularly in the Vesper Orchestra of Los Altos First Baptist Church, as well as many other worship services in the SF Bay Area and now in Texas. She was active in Foothill Theater and Palo Alto Players, where she enjoyed playing in pit orchestras for a variety of Broadway musicals. In recent years, Tyane has added online lessons to her teaching schedule for a few distance students. Tyane was a member of American Federation of Musicians Local 153 in San Jose, CA until her move to Texas. She has been a longtime member of the American Federation of String Teachers and MTNA.
