It may be summertime, but our officer team has been busy preparing and planning for this next year!

Today officers attended a live studio recording session at RFD-TV of the Rural Town Hall with the Western Caucus Foundation where they got to hear from Department of Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and Representative Celeste Maloy.

Burleson FFA had a busy and successful week at the CDE competitions! We are proud of all our members for their hard work and dedication. 🌟

At the Region 5 Wildlife CDE Contest:
🦆Wildlife placed 7th out of 25 teams
Team Members: Brayden Busby, Laney Holt, Madyson Kelly, William Lee

At the Area 8 CDE Contest:
🌿 Nursery Landscape placed 10th out of 19 teams
Team Members: Emma Skaggs, Macey Williams
Special congratulations to Emma Skaggs for placing 5th overall individually!

🩺 Vet Med placed 13th out of 50 teams
Team Members: McKenzie Kimbrell, Rayna Laymon, Caroline Shoden, Trinity Smith

🌸 Floral placed 13th out of 41 teams
Team Members: Alice Encinas, Haylie Lott, Cameron Morse, Haleigh Jones

🐔 Poultry placed 24th out of 38 teams
Team Members: Zane Ball, Dixie Browning, Sophia Dyer, Ayden Miller

🐎 Horse placed 33rd out of 48 teams
Team Members: Kaden Bullock, Olivia Jones, Bryleigh McDonald, Aubree Saragusa

We are so proud of each of these students for their commitment and effort this season 💙💛

Don't forget to join us at our April FFA Meeting today afterschool! We are meeting in the Practice Gym. Come ready to vote on our new officer candidate speeches, hear from our talent team, get help on your proficiency awards (DUE TONIGHT), and test your skills on the court.!

Burleson FFA has been busy over the past month! Our members have been hard at work participating in events, competitions, and leadership opportunities.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:
• The Texas FFA State Officers came to visit on March 6th, where members participated in a leadership workshop.
• Officers held our March Chapter Meeting on March 10th.
• We wrapped up show season in Houston and Austin over Spring Break with our show teams
• Attended the JCLAA Banquet, where Zane Ball and Laney Holt were presented JCLAA scholarships.
• Kicked off CDE season with contests in Glen Rose (3/25) and Tarleton (3/26)

We’re not slowing down anytime soon! Coming up next:
• Wildlife CDE Contest at Weatherford– Tuesday (3/31)
• Bridgeport/Decatur double header contest – Wednesday (4/1)
• Horse CDE Contest at Cleburne– Thursday (4/2)
• Regional & Area CDE Contests – Tuesday/Wednesday (4/6-7)

Important upcoming dates:
• Mandatory Cattle Meeting (for ‘26-’27exhibitors) – Monday (4/6)
• 2026-2027 Officer Applications are Due– Monday (4/6) at 4:15 PM
• April FFA and Alumni Meeting – Tuesday (4/7)
• Banquet Award Applications Due – Tuesday (4/7) at 11:59 PM
• Barn Clean-Up (for students housing animals at the barn) – Thursday (4/9)

We’re proud of our students for their hard work and dedication as we head into a busy stretch of competitions and events!

Just a heads up! Validation tag orders are coming up, so we’re doing the cattle interest meeting on April 6th!

Reminder: In order to show cattle through either FFA Chapter, you must have shown a smaller species!
