Three hours of leg locks, details, and a whole lot of tapping. 😂

Huge thank you to Brandon George for coming out and sharing his knowledge with us at Genesis Jiu-Jitsu Burleson. Great technique, great rounds, and an even better group of people on the mats.

And thank you to everyone who came out to train, especially those who made the trip from other gyms. That’s what the Jiu-Jitsu community is all about. 🤝🥋

We definitely left with a few more tools in the toolbox.

🥋 TECHNIQUE TUESDAY: Pendulum Sweep

Ever feel like you’re stuck on your back in closed guard and can’t get anything going? 👀

That’s where the pendulum sweep comes in.

This week at Genesis Jiu-Jitsu Burleson, we’re breaking down how to use your angle, momentum, and leverage to take your opponent from the top position straight to their back — putting YOU on top. 💥

The best part? You don’t have to be the biggest or strongest person in the room. Get the details right, and let the technique do the work.

Watch the breakdown, then come try it on the mats. 🤙

🥋 Looking for kids martial arts in Burleson, TX?

At Genesis Jiu-Jitsu Burleson, our kids martial arts program is about a lot more than learning how to grapple.

Kids build confidence, discipline, resilience, coordination, and problem-solving skills while learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a challenging, team-focused environment.

They’ll learn how to compete. How to handle losing. How to stay calm under pressure. And how to keep working when something is difficult.

That’s what martial arts training should be.

🔥 TEAM GENESIS | JASPR INVITATIONAL

Our competitors stepped onto the mats for the JASPR Invitational 4v4 Quintet-style Jiu-Jitsu Team Tournament and absolutely brought it.

Hard rounds. High-level competition. Relentless scrambles. And most importantly, they fought for each other and represented Genesis Jiu-Jitsu the right way.

This is what competition training is about, testing your Jiu-Jitsu against tough opponents, finding another gear when things get hard, and coming back better because of it.

Proud of how these guys trained, competed, and fought as a team.

Iron sharpens iron. Team Genesis. ⚔️🥋
