Nate Schnare pitched three innings of no hit ball and recorded 5Ks in the Astros Driscoll 13-0 semifinal win at the Legacy Fall Championships. The Astros will play at 4pm in the finals @ Mary Washington University. Go Astros!

The whole Advanced Baseball team want to send a big shout out and good luck to all the high school athletes starting up their high school season this week. Y’all have worked extremely hard and have overcome so much over the last year and are no doubt gonna go show well.
Starting off the Winter Training quarter with assessment week. screens, 3D Motion Capture, reports, bat speed & exit speeds and everything in between. Don’t guess when you can assess! Having all of the information on the athletes in front of you allows you to address all of their needs from physical to technical!
Always a great time when two guys get together. Big congrats to Mark Pryor and the rest of the organization on their World Series victory. Coach Steve is proud to have had the opportunity to work with the organization and help bring methodologies to LA!
Over the weekend we had the pleasure of having 2x NL All Star Jonathan Lucroy out to the facility for our assessment process. 3-D Motion Capture, screens, and power testing gives us the info needed to create targeted programming to help him with the direction of his training this off-season. Great dude and looking forward to working with him again.

This a simple and basic progression formula to help ensure the athletes best chance for success on the field. However, we see many athletes, teams, and programs not subscribing and thus limiting the athletes success on the field.
Has COVID-19 affected your athletes movement capabilities?...they’re efficiency? Many athletes are going back with their teams or organizations without any type of screening or assessing to identify any hotspots or weak links caused by the lay-off. Don’t guess when you can assess. Here’s Coach Steve screening an athlete to check on his internal hip rotation. We’re excited to be back and to bring the right information to our athletes!

1. In order to throw correctly(a spiral) keep the elbow on plane and have great internal/external rotation of the throwing arm, which is exactly what you want when throwing a baseball
2. You can’t throw a football wrong mechanically and make it spiral

Lunges with torque is a great cross-specific exercise especially for pitchers to help increase hip-shoulder separation. Simply put, cross-specific means the more the exercise/drill looks like the movement patterns on the field the more benefit gained from the exercise/drill.
