📚 Literacy Comes to Life at Kiddie Country!
We are excited to share that we partner with Fairfax County Public Library to bring a bi-monthly librarian visit to our Junior Kindergarten classrooms!
During these special visits, our students participate in an engaging literacy experience designed to spark a love for books and reading. Each session includes:
✨ Interactive storytelling
✨ Songs and movement activities
✨ Language development exercises
✨ Hands-on engagement with books
This experience not only builds early literacy skills but also helps connect our children to their local libraries, encouraging families to explore all the wonderful resources available in our community.
At Kiddie Country, we believe that fostering a love for reading starts early—and we love seeing our students light up during these visits! 📖💛

Seats Study – Chair Scavenger Hunt
As part of our Seats Study, the children went on a chair scavenger hunt around the school. Each child received a sheet with pictures of different types of seats.
During the walk around the playground, hallways, and classrooms, the children carefully looked for chairs and places people sit. When they found a seat that matched one of the pictures on their paper, they circled the picture on their sheet.
This helped the children connect real-life objects with images, practice observation skills, and stay engaged in the search. The children were excited to point out chairs to their friends and teachers as they explored the school together.

As the weather begins to warm up, the children were excited to spend more time learning and creating outdoors! ☀️🎨
Today, the children were given the opportunity to create a class mural outside using paint and large sheets of paper. They worked together to explore colors, make creative marks, and express their ideas through art in the fresh air.
Outdoor art experiences like this encourage creativity, collaboration, and self-expression while also supporting fine motor development. The children loved having the space to paint freely and contribute their own ideas to a shared class masterpiece.
Activities like this also connect to our Creative Curriculum goals by allowing children to explore the arts, work cooperatively with their peers, and engage their senses while learning.
🎨☀️ What a wonderful way to celebrate warmer days and creativity!
