Burkburnett ISD Pre-K students learn through purposeful play, hands-on exploration, movement, music, stories, games, creativity, and meaningful interactions.

Pre-K is often a child’s first experience with school and an important opportunity to build confidence, independence, curiosity, and a love for learning.

BISD students develop skills in:
📚 Early Literacy & Language - vocabulary, communication, letters, sounds, stories, and sharing ideas
🔢 Early Math - counting, numbers, patterns, shapes, sorting, and measurement
🤝 Social-Emotional Skills - sharing, cooperation, managing emotions, problem-solving, and building friendships
✂️ Physical Development - fine- and gross-motor skills, coordination, and body awareness
💡 Thinking & Learning - curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, persistence, and confidence

Academic instruction is intentional, focused, and goal-oriented. Teachers use multiple data points to monitor student progress and determine when learning goals have been met. Students are celebrated by staff and peers as they master their goals and are encouraged to demonstrate persistence as they progress through each unit of study.

Consistent attendance is important at this stage as students progress throughout the school year. Every day is another opportunity to become the best students they can be!

We meet students where they are and provide a welcoming environment where every child can learn, grow, and succeed.

Ms. Graham’s Professional Communications students had the opportunity to put their interview skills into practice with employers and professionals from our community!

Students practiced answering common interview questions, communicating professionally, and showcasing the skills they would bring to a future workplace.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing community volunteers who took time out of their day to come speak with our students and provide valuable feedback. Your support helps our students build confidence and prepare for their futures!

BHS is career ready!

As part of our continued awareness efforts during Fentanyl Poisoning Awareness Month, please take a moment to review the infographics below. They provide facts about fentanyl.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid, and even one pill can be deadly. This infographic highlights the growing impact of fentanyl-related deaths and the dangers.

Sharing this information can help parents and families recognize potential warning signs and have important conversations with their children.
