Burkburnett ISD is excited to introduce our 2026 Adopt-A-Bulldog Holiday Assistance Program beginning November 9!

This new initiative will connect BISD students and families (Pre-K to 12th grade) who may need additional holiday support with caring community members, local businesses, churches, organizations, and BISD staff who want to help make the holiday season a little brighter.

Interested in helping sponsor a Bulldog this holiday season? We are currently gathering donor interest so we can begin preparing for our program launch on November 9th. Complete our Donor Interest Form: https://forms.gle/Hajs8hGPmuvXf9na6
Completing the form simply lets us know that you are interested in being a donor or adopting multiple bulldogs! Additional information regarding the adoption process, student wish lists, donation guidelines, and important deadlines will be provided as we get closer to the program launch.

How can my child qualify? Referrals are submitted internally by BISD staff and counselors only. Families do not need to complete a form or take action unless they are contacted by the District Social Worker and invited to participate. A referral does not guarantee participation or assistance. Parent/guardian consent is required, and eligibility is determined based on established program criteria and available resources. This program is not affiliated with Angel Tree. All student and family information will be kept confidential.

Students in 4A learned the difference between literal and non literal language and were able to differentiate the two through written examples. After reading a text, students were then able to take an example of non literal language used in the text and draw what mental image was created in their mind based on the word choice the author used.

What an incredible night at the Unified Friendship Bowl! 🏈🧡

Our Unified students had the BEST time being part of such a special night! They got to run the flags out of the tunnel, perform for all the fans, and proudly represent what inclusion, friendship, and belonging are all about. 🥰

Our 3rd graders were on the move today in writing class as they used task cards to practice using transitional words. Students worked collaboratively, shared their thinking and learned from one another as they strengthened their writing skills.

Our Unified kiddos are getting ready to SHINE at the Friendship Unified Bowl! They’ve been practicing hard, cheering each other on, and having so much fun! We can’t wait to see them perform!
