Glad when I inspire people ...

I’ve been working with coloured gels on my lights for as long as I can remember, it was one of those ah-ha moments when I first used them - it opened up a whole world of creative options.

It was no different when I sunk below the surface, and I remember this shoot so well. I asked my client, as I always do, what sort of lighting she had in mind. She replied that she didn’t really know but was it possible to make it look like a night club? I gave her a definite “yes!”, as I always do, and then scrambled to try and make that work!

Turns out it wasn’t that hard, but the effect was great and I’ve been using that set up for years now. Two coloured lights on either side at the back, and the smoky look is just the water clarity. Add some fill from the front and you have instant night club 🕺🏽
