The Burbank SD 111 Board of Education is conducting a search for a new superintendent. The selection of a new superintendent is probably the most important decision a board of education has to make; therefore, the Board has hired the Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to assist in this process.

The Board of Education is seeking everyone’s input in the search process. The Board requests that all board members, all staff, all parents and community members complete an online survey provided by the IASB. The results will be tallied and used by the Board and Screening Team to develop a brochure to advertise the position. All survey responses and comments will remain anonymous.

What a great day for BSD111!
We had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Tony Sanders, Illinois State Superintendent of Education, along with ISBE staff members Cynthia and Hector, for a visit to Kennedy, Burbank, McCord, and Liberty Junior High School.
Thank you for spending time with our students and staff and allowing us to share the amazing things happening throughout our district. We are incredibly proud of all our schools, educators, students, and families, and especially grateful for the opportunity to showcase the exceptional learning, dedication, and community spirit that make BSD111 such a special place.

Burbank School District 111 invites all students, families, staff, and community members to our Multicultural Fair on Thursday, September 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Liberty Junior High School, 5900 W. 81st Street.
This year, we're excited to introduce something new and special... our very first Multicultural Fashion Show!
We invite everyone to proudly wear traditional clothing that represents their heritage, culture, and family traditions. If you would like to be introduced and participate in the fashion show, please scan the QR code and sign up by September 9. Participants will receive additional details after registering.
Come enjoy an evening filled with culture, connection, learning, and celebration as we honor the many backgrounds that make our BSD111 community so special. We can't wait to celebrate with you!

Burbank School District 111 will have three school board seats to be filled at the April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election. Candidates who are elected will fill four-year terms expiring in April 2031. Candidates for the office of school board can begin to circulate nominating petitions beginning August 25. The period for candidate filing is November 16 - 23. Visit www.bsd111.org for additional information and required forms. Printed packets are available for pickup at the District Office.

What an amazing Back-to-School Rally! Thank you to our families, staff, students, and community members for making the event such a success. A special shoutout to the Liberty Junior High School Band for an incredible opening performance, and to the Burbank Police Department, Burbank Fire Department, and our community vendors for sharing valuable resources and services with our BSD111 families. Together, we kicked off the school year with excitement, connection, and community spirit. Here's to a fantastic year ahead!

Our Title I Informational Meeting will be held as an open forum on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Burbank School Cafeteria. Everyone is welcome to attend and learn more about our ISBE Title I Grant, how these funds support our schools, and the impact they have on meeting the academic needs of our students.
