St Laurence High School - Class of 1986

I have made the call to St. Laurence High School, but knowing how busy things are over there I am going to suggest two paths.

One, clearly we work with StL to ascertain what they can provide;

Secondly, I am a past-president emeritus of a private club called the CliffDwellers. It’s in Chicago, has very close and affordable parking and is on Michigan Avenue. It has a roof top and a view of downtown second to none. It’s a full dining club with a great bar, a deck and a large dining room. Depending on the size of the group I can work with the club to see what pricing might look like.

I hate to say it, but forty years may be the best shot to get a lot of us together. Many of us are in touch with each other, and despite the fact many of us are across the globe - we can kick it up a notch.

At thirty years some of us went to a bar and had a great time as well. Beer and pizza might work. It’s up to everyone that weighs in.

Anyone that can be someone I can bounce ideas off would be great. To the point in the original post - we need to jump on this sooner rather than later.

I'm just going to throw this out there. This May will be 40 years since the Class of '86 graduated from St Laurence. I am not sure if anyone is interested in organizing a get-together/reunion, but it might be a good idea to start talking about it now.

Alex Gonzalez, son of Tino Gonzalez '86, was born with Smith-Magenis Syndrome, a rare disease that only affects 1 out of every 36,000 newborns. A relatively new syndrome, there is little that can be projected or referenced regarding SMS. Furthermore, SMS requires an abundance of additional professional care and therapy, which has resulted in a heavy financial burden to the Gonzalez family.

As a way to help support the Gonzalez family, you are invited to attend Curveball 2019 on February 23. The night includes an open bar, food stations, entertainment and much more, all in support of this great cause If you cannot attend but would still like to donate or participate in the auction, you can do so at the link.

This year, the Alumni Block Party falls on our homecoming game against Hope Academy. We'll have a pig roast, beer, and other food and drinks as we pregame for the big game. Tickets also include admission into the football game.

Reminder that TOMORROW Saturday September 10th, 2016, we will be meeting up at the Roadhouse (9090 s Roberts Road - Hickory Hills) from 3:00pm - 12:00am. This is an informal gathering of the members of the STL Class of '86. This is going to be a very laid back, organic get-together. It is going to be what we make of it.

John Boyle is going to be blocking off the parking lot and supplying food for everyone. We have a few canopies that we can set up to stay out of the sun/rain/snow (it is Chicago). Please feel free to bring anything that you want for the day. I plan on bringing a lawn chair and my bags. If we get a few people to bring them, we could possibly have a small tournament.

Again.....this is going to be what we make of it.

The only thing that John Boyle has asked of us is a 'headcount' for the food. Please let us know if you're going to be able to make it.
