Congratulations to NYFA Los Angeles BFA Acting for Film alum, Trevor Newlin, on his role as "Mr. Handsome" in the new Superman movie! 🎭 ✨

Last fall, Trevor returned to NYFA LA to share how NYFA inspired his journey into character acting, from playing "The Monstrosity" in Smile 2 to the "Xenomorph" in Alien: Romulus.

Since 2009, the New York Film Academy has proudly enrolled over 3,000 veterans and military-dependent students. We offer extensive educational opportunities approved for GI Bill® funding, helping veterans and their families bring their creative visions to life.

This Fourth of July, we salute those who have served and continue to support their creative journeys in film, media, and the arts. 🎬🎖️

We kicked things off at the LA Pride Festival, brought the celebration to our New York Campus, and wrapped up the month with an inspiring Pride Story Slam in Los Angeles.

In Honor of Juneteenth, we are celebrating NYFA Los Angeles BFA Photography student Malaysia Cole and her project "The Weight We Carry."

Malaysia shares, "This project is deeply personal. 'The Weight We Carry' is about the emotional, physical, and spiritual load that Black women move through life with a weight that is both invisible and all consuming. As a Black woman in America, I've felt fear that something might happen to me for simply being who I am. That fear isn't abstract, it's been shaped by real experiences. This project is about the shared fear, strength, grief, and beauty that so many Black women carry every single day. We are expected to be strong, to be unbothered, to keep it moving — even when our hearts are heavy. And yet, somehow, we do. With 'The Weight We Carry,' I wanted to hold space for all of it. For the days we feel radiant and the days we feel invisible. For the joy we create despite the struggle. For the quiet strength we carry when we're just trying to make it through. This is a love letter. This is me saying: I see us. I feel this weight, too. And I made this to remind us that we are not alone."
