Thank You for a Wonderful Volunteer Appreciation Day
We had a great time this past Sunday at our Star Horses Volunteer Appreciation Day—thank you to everyone who came out and spent time with us!

Originally, we had planned a grazing day, but with the busy horse show weekend and rainy weather, we pivoted to a more relaxed volunteer lunch. We enjoyed El Pollo Loco and some absolutely delicious homemade cookies from our own Chris 🍪

With lessons canceled due to the rain, it turned into a perfect opportunity to:

Spend time together

Socialize and connect

Hand walk horses and give them some extra attention

It was a meaningful and productive day for both our volunteers and our horses.

Putting horses in the sunpen

Assisting with lessons (side walkers)

👉 Volunteers must be 14 or older

Many high schools require volunteer hours—this is a great way to earn them while being part of something meaningful.

At Star Horses, we provide equine-assisted programs that make a real difference for neurodiverse youth, children facing emotional or academic challenges, and adults who need a safe, supportive space to grow.

This year, we expanded our services from three to five days per week, added new certified instructors, and created an annual Volunteer & Client Appreciation Day to honor the community that makes this work possible.

Use the healing power of horses to help people gain confidence, connection, and hope.
